COOL4Ed’s mission is to support the success of CCC and CSU campuses implementing their textbook affordability programs and reducing the cost of course materials for students.
Through developing and growing open and extensive communication channels, sharing expertise and experiences with textbook affordability programs, and supporting the leadership of campus coordinators, the collaborative community of the CCC and CSU will be able to achieve is textbook affordability goals successfully, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

Archived Webinars
The COOL4Ed team will conduct monthly webinars on topics that are important to the TACC Community. We will be using Zoom, online conferencing software, and we'll frequently be asking members of the TACC community to share their plans and experiences. We'll also bring in guest experts and simply give you time to address the issues that are bothering you.

- Textbook Affordability + Your Campus: Strategy, Data, and Sustainability Conference, CSU Affordable Learning Solutions and OLC Collaborate, February 16, 2017, San Francisco Airport Hilton. Conference Materials' Resource Center. The CSU Affordable Learning Solutions initiative and COOL4Ed.org joined the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) for a regional conference focused on higher education textbook affordability and the California Textbook Affordability Act AB 798 generating grant funding and initiating faculty to adopt no/low cost resources for their students. Each session was archived and posted online for easy reference.
- Open Education Week took place, March 27 – 31, 2017.
- HBCU Affordable Learning Summit: April 5-7, 2017 The Southern University System, the California State University, and MERLOT shared practices, strategies, and resources for reducing the costs of instructional materials for students, making higher education more affordable for more students in Historically Black Universities (HBCUs) in the United States and Higher Education Institutions in Africa (HEIA). The HBCU Affordable Learning Summit was embedded in the annual OLC INNOVATE conference cosponsored by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and MERLOT in New Orleans, April 5-7, 2017.
